“The key in a holistic health approach is balance, open communication, and empowerment of our clients to take charge of their own health.”

The Enlighten Approach
The Enlighten Physical Therapy approach: “Conscious Care for Pelvic (and abdominal) Health” is East meets West, but just as the practice of yoga is multi-layered and complex, so is this approach to working with pelvic floor dysfunction and/or chronic pain. This approach maintains a balance between western science and a holistic consideration of the physical, emotional, psychological, energetic, and spiritual systems. If you haven’t already, check out Dr. Casie Danenhauer Humble’s first couple of blogs to learn how her personal story has shaped the holistic yoga-based care we provide at Enlighten Physical Therapy. The Enlighten approach was created in response to working with a heavy case-load of patients with complex concerns, collaborating with a variety of top-notch health-care professionals, staying up to date with the latest evidence-based approaches, and following our intuition on how we can best provide pelvic care.
At Enlighten Physical Therapy, we use the biopsychosocial model as a framework for working with clients because we have found that the most effective and efficient way to working with pelvic floor issues and/or chronic pain is an integrative approach. This looks like a cohesive blend of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, physical yoga postures, breathing activities, and meditation. We are trauma-informed therapists and practice Holistic Pelvic Care(TM). We integrate individualized exploration of nutrition, energy, emotions, stress management, and lifestyle into every healing program. The key in a holistic health approach is balance, open communication, and empowerment of our clients to take charge of their own health. The benefits to this approach are exponentially greater than simply “curing” ones’ pain or covering up symptoms. Conscious care allows for the opportunity to live more mindfully, enjoy abundance of health and joy, and engage in a richer life.
